In the Beginning (Part 3)

…Be Fruitful and Multiply

A woman carries in her Life what it takes to be fruitful on earth, and as a Christian woman you have in you the potential to bear fruit physically and spiritually if nothing tampers with your life. No matter how great the potential is in a man to be fruitful, he will bear no fruit as a married man without his wife. Even though he carries part of the seed as well as the womb which is the necessary incubator for the combined seed to become a child. This has both physical and spiritual implications.

Abraham, the father of faith remained barren as long as Sarah his wife was barren. Maybe Sarah initially thought she was of no consequence to the fulfilment of God’s plan for Abraham to be the father of many nations. As long as she was complacent about this issue, she was unfruitful; as a result, Abraham was unfruitful. But as soon as she received strength to conceive, she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.

There is something which God has located in us which we must contribute in order to bring about fruitfulness on earth both physically and spiritually along with our men. It is important to understand this and seek the Lord to help you so that you will not be barren or unfruitful in the purpose of God in our time.

…Fill the earth, subdue it and have dominion over every creature.

It is important to note again that this commission was given to both the male and the female. Even in the matter of spreading the gospel to raise new creation people all over the earth, men must not be left alone. This matter belongs to us as well. We must be ready to go wherever God leads us as ambassadors f God’s kingdom on earth. Our duty wherever we are is to subdue the earth, bringing it under control and making sure that God’s will is done on earth as it is in heaven. In our homes, churches, communities and places of work, by life, prayer and by action, it is our responsibility as women to see to it that God’s authority stands on earth and His will is done.

Whenever and wherever there is spiritual and moral decay it is often due to the fact that the women in that place have absconded from their God-given duty. The spirituality of a church congregation is often directly related to the spirituality of the women there. Moral decadence in any home or community is a direct indication of the worldliness of their women. The word of God is true that says, A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son is the grief of his mother. (Prov.10:1 It is because God and even the society recognize the indispensable role of a mother in bringing up a child in a godly way. Even though a father has a role to play, he can only build on the foundation that the mother lays in the life of the child.

And if any community will be upright and godly, you cannot fold your hand as a woman (married or single) and watch men perform. You have a role to play in this matter because part of God’s authority to subdue the earth has been placed in your life. The society is in need of us to contribute the blessing, the grace and the authority that God has put in our lives as women. You must not die with that treasure. It is not needed in the grave.

Until next time. Stay blessed.
