Covid-19 Church Update

Covid-19 Church Update

November 2020 Update

The second national lock down will be coming to an end on Wednesday 2nd of December 2020, this will be replaced by a regionally differentiated approach, where different tiers of restrictions apply in different parts of the country.

The government has confirmed that Oxford will be classified under Tier 4 – High alert. Under this tier, places of worship remain open, but you must not socialise with people from outside of your household or support bubble while you are indoors there, unless a legal exemption applies.

Whilst as a church we are delighted by this new change, which allows for the reopening of our building in order to hold congregational services, the senior pastor, ministers and leaders of the church have met to discuss this and have decided that as a church we will not be returning to onsite services until the new year.

The decision to remain closed during the month of December into the new year was reached by the leadership of the church in order to maintain consistency in the delivery of our church services during this period of uncertainty and changing rules. Therefore, as a church we will continue to hold both our Sunday and Wednesday services online via Zoom.

Our decision to remain closed until the new year is in no way a reflection of our inability to adhere to all guidelines set by the government for places of worship nor is it driven from a point of fear. We are continuing to trust God during this time, and we believe that even though there is no definitive date of when this pandemic will end, but end it will.

It is our hope that this announcement of our plans for the next coming weeks will give you the ability to plan ahead and therefore you will be able to attend all services and events that the church will be putting together during the month of December into the new year. More details of the planned services during the festive period will be announced in the coming weeks.

It is important for you to remember that whilst the building is closed the church is very much in operation, various activities are taking place of which we would like to encourage everyone to take the responsibility of engaging with all that the Church is doing and stay connected with the fellow brethren.
